Health Care Worker Influenza Vaccination
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone 6 months or older get vaccinated against influenza as soon as the flu vaccine is available in their community. It is especially important that health care workers get vaccinated because they may care for or live with people at high risk for influenza-related complications. The Maryland Health Care Commission collects and reports the rates of staff influenza vaccination for different facility types.
- Ambulatory Surgical Facilities/Hospital Based Outpatient Departments
- Assisted Living facilities with ten beds or more
- Hospice agencies
- Home Health agencies
- Hospitals
- Nursing Homes
Results for each facility, as well as statewide scores, are publicly reported on the Maryland Quality Reporting website under the facility profile pages.
